The first time my mum has roast chicken at our home here in Kuala Lumpur....
Me: Okay everybody! Dinner is almost ready!
Mum: Let me help you.
Me: Okay, just help me put the chicken outside while I finish the gravy.
(A little later...)
Me: Dinner is served! Roast chicken! Come and get it!
(My mum wanders up and looks at the food on offer - roast chicken, roast potatoes, steamed veg)
Mum: (genuinely surprised) Where's the rice?
